1. Loggers. This job is by far the most dangerous one in the United States. The death rate is 132 per 100,000 โ€“ more than 2.5 times the rate of the second-most deadliest job.
2. Fishing workers. The death rate is 55 per 100,000.
3. Aircraft pilots. The death rate is slightly above 40 per 100,000.
4. Roofer. The death rate is slightly under 40 per 100,000.
5. Garbage men. The death rate is 39 per 100,000.
6. Iron and steel workers. The death rate is 30 per 100,000.
7. Truck drivers. The death rate is 24 per 100,000.
8. Ranchers and farmers. The death rate is 22 per 100,000.
9. Electrical power line workers. The death rate is 21 per 100,000.
10. Landscaping supervisors. The death rate is 18 per 100,000. While this number is high, letโ€™s put it in perspective. Itโ€™s still less than 1/7 of the rate of the #1 job on this list.
